After the 2nd. set of tests for GOUT, they've decided I don't have gout, I have, "Pseudo gout". It's a arthritis that mimics gout symptoms. The problem is "Calcium Prophosphate Crystals", forming in the joints, then work loose and getting into the joint fluid. Pseudo gout, has nothing to due with, "what you eat", in fact they don't really know what causes it, some say it might be hereditary, etc. It likes to flair up in the larger joint's, (like my left knee), it's still EXTREMELY painful but there's really no "meds", basicly take heavy amounts of ibuprophen and if that don't do it, cortozone shots and the last, "surgery".
As of today it's been 7 weeks, I did however "ride" my bicycle last Saturday to the shop and back, it wasn't an easy ride but I wanted to be there when my wife picked up her new, "back up/commuter" bicycle, a 2011 KHS Vitamin A, flatbar road bike. This is the bottom of the "Vitamin" line up but it will be a great commuter and we will keep the "straight bars", added a adjustable stem, comes with wider, 700Cx35 tires, with a heavier tread pattern on it so we can use it on local "dirt paths", keeping her Vitamin B as her, "recreational/touring" machine.

We decided to "SELL" our Trek T-900 Tandem as it's just to much strain on my arthritic joints to hold "both" of us up, it's a bit of a bummer cause we really liked it but it was causing me pain and it' was a PIA to get up and down 3 flights of strairs to our 3rd. floor apartment. Due to the MASSIVE medical bills, I'll have to wait till early spring and see what our income tax refund brings so I can get a "utility/back up machine" for ME!! I may just pick up 2012 KHS Vitamin A myself but we will see. That's all for now, Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to all!
B.J. :)
