Getting along with the tandem

We've been riding the Tandem as much as possible and enjoying it, I'll have some photos but LOL, it's hard to take photos when you BOTH have to ride the bike at the same time! :)  We've been riding "recumbent" bikes since Jan. 2011 so it's been a lot to get used to, the tandem seems TALL and likes to have you mash the pedals more than spin like you do on a recumbent and there's a lot of "commands" that have to be learned between the "capt. and the stroker" (we, prefer: pilot and navigator), it really is "TEAM" riding as it can be smooth or choppy if your both not on the same page.

Still, it's a lot of FUN, we rode up to the Starsmoore Center in North Cheyenne Canyon, here in the Springs. It was HOT and there's a pretty good "grade" on the road up the canyon but we really enjoyed sititng by the "babbling brook", in the shade and sharing a kashi choc/cherry bar! :) Headed out for a most excellent burger at Red Top, (arrrugh too much food!) and then decided to head home due to the 90+ heat and more humidity than normal due to constant afternoon thundershowers in July! As stated I'll add some photos from the rides, have to get them "developed"! Here are the photos!

Our new Trek T-900 Hybrid Tandem, July 2011! :)

Take care, Ride Safe, have FUN!
