I took my new to me, BUB (back up bike) and converted it from a comfort bike to a road hybrid, the biggest improvement was getting rid of the "heavy" 30mm Suspension fork, changing to a "lighter" cro-mo steel road fork. The change is huge, it brings the front end down a bit and lightens the bike up. The 30mm Suspension fork had one really bad quality, with only that tiny bit of suspension movement, it kinda "stuttered" over bumps, when it compressed it couldn't rebound fast enough so it made a "pogo" type ride. Now it is a bit harsher but the cro-mo fork doesn't have the "stutter" and is ultra smooth on non-bumpy pavement, NICE! Still going to upgrade the wheel's and crankset but it's now truely "road worthy"! :)
