Bicycling next to our 30 years of "motorcycle" ownership is fairly inexpensive but there's a world out there we'd LOVE to try, the problem is FUNDS!! We'd REALLY like to try a "recumbant tandem", LOL, I know it's a real departure from our "coverted MTB's" but WOW, it just looks like it would work out good as there's a substancial leg length difference between Jo and I, (I'm 32" she's barely 26", I'm 6 ft. she's 5ft.) and that difference seems to be an expensive one on a "diamond framed tandem".
Still even the Recumbant tandem with it's super adjustability is a VERY expensive bicycling unit. Were looking at $3000 dollars for the Sun AX series RT we want, it's got the ability to let the stroker pedal at "their" pace, independent of the captain's pace. This would be a HUGE plus for us as I'm normally about 4 mph faster than Jo on the same road surface. When you live on a mere, $25,000 a year, "$3000" is a HUGE chunk of change out of the meger budget!!
Sun Recumbant Tandem AX series
There's almost no real "used" market in recumbant tandems, like in diamond framed units so it would be just PURE luck if we could find a R-Tandem we could afford. I really think the tandem would make us a bit faster and LOL, since I put Jo in front and "SHE" set's the pace when we ride or tour, I'm almost as close as if we were riding a tandem. ;) Hopefully one day we can figure out a way to give and Bent-T a try but for now it's "onward and upward" on our Converted MTB Road/Tour Hybrids! :)
