One week to go!!!

Well, next Monday we head off on our, "first" multi-day mini-tour on the bicycles, although I can't wait, it's also a bit "scarry"! :O  It's been many years since I was out "on the road" and even that was just a Century Ride (Hardscrable Century out of Florence, CO.-1984!). Sure I bomb the city streets and even some of the local highway's out east of Colorado Springs BUT, this is different, the is "several hours over 3 or 4 days", sharing highway's with non-local traffic, OH BOY!!

You start to "over worry", bike breakdowns, body breakdowns, did I bring enough back up water and food, ect. Although the ride is between 40 and 50 miles a day and were "moteling" for this one, there's a LOT of no where, in those miles! It's not like there's a 7-11 every 20 miles, there's only one stop before the first motel in Florence, CO. and that's at Penrose station, 35 miles from our start point in C. Springs, the 2nd. day, there's NOTHING between Florence and Westcliffe, (there is the TINY hamlet of Wetmore but half the time, there's nothing open!), the last day is a bit better, there's Hillside Station, Texas Creek Cafe before we get back into Canon City for the night.

Yep, it's gona be quite the challenge for a couple of "newbie touring" riders like Jo and I but what the heck, "Bring It ON", in 7 days, it's start to Florence, in 7 years, who knows, maybe the WORLD! ;)
