Worked the"Starlight Spectacular" night ride, it was WET & COLD!

Well I worked my first "Starlight Spectacular" night ride "Rest Stop" last night, it was WET and Cold, the temps, got down to 39 F degrees at 2AM.  Even with the cruddy conditions, they "turned out" by the hundreds, with bikes all lighted up in many ways and many in "costume"!  We had several types of snacks, watermellon, oranges, etc. for them to much on and they surely packed it away to keep up the carbs to burn to fight off the WET and COLD.

I truely marvel at these folks, they looked like drowned rats from a sinking ship but they smiled BIG and laughed a lot and ENJOYED the maddness that Mother Nature threw at them, so much for bicycle riders being wimps!  The above photo is the CS WEST Bicycle Shops, employees, made up as the Pac Man" family! It was a sight to see. We finally got the last of the riders out of the "Rest Stop" around 2:30AM and did the tear down and clean up. I got back on my bicycle about 3:30AM and headed home in the dark but at least most of the RAIN had died off, YEA!! Rolled into the Apt. at 4:00AM. and headed for BED!! It was a lot of FUN but I sure hope for better weather next YEAR!!

B.J. :)
